Short: Biorhythm calculator, V2.1 Author: Richard Smedley Type: Utility - S3a, S3c, Siena Bio 2.1 S3a, S3c & Siena (C) Richard Smedley 1998 rsmedley@cix.co.uk INTRODUCTION ------------ From time to time, we all experience feeling tired or depressed without any apparent reason when, just the day before, everything had been alright. A number of Swiss scientists decided to look into this problem, and after studying medical files and a huge amount of statistical analysis, they discovered that people tend to experience these ill-fated days at regular intervals. In their scientific analysis, they divided human feelings into three basic categories: PHYSICAL Concerning stamina, vitality, energy, vigour, and physical strength. EMOTIONAL The nervous system, our emotions, sensitivity, optimism, self assurance, moods, creativity, and intuition. INTELLECTUAL Our judgement, perception, concentration, and powers of reason. Their findings indicated that our abilities in each of these categories are subject to regular cycles which are thought to start at birth and continue throughout our entire life. The physical cycle is thought to last 23 days, emotional 28 days, and intellectual 33 days. This program will plot your biorhythms onto a chart, allowing you to instantly see your physical, emotional and intellectual states. You can produce biorhythm charts for anybody you want (all you need is their date of birth), and for any date in the past, present or future. The program features in internal database to store all your friends birthdays, and can even interpret biorhythm charts for you, telling you what they mean in real terms. INSTALLATION ------------ This program is compatible with the S3a, S3c and Siena. To install Bio, copy the files into these directories on the Psion: BIO.OPA -> \APP\ BIO.HLP -> \HLP\ SYS$HELP -> \OPO\ Press Psion-I to install it onto the System screen. A config file (BIO.CFG) will be created in your OPD dir. USING THE PROGRAM ----------------- The first time you run Bio, a window will appear on the screen asking you to enter your birthday and the date of the plot. Just enter the two dates, and then press the return key. Your biorhythm chart will be displayed for that date, with your age in days displayed at the bottom of the screen. You'll see that your chart consists of three lines: P -> Physical E -> Emotional I -> Intellectual Each time you use the program, it remembers the last birthday that you entered and automatically displays a chart for that person the next time that you run it. While the chart is displayed, pressing the cursor keys will let you scroll the chart to look at other dates - pressing the left & right keys will move you one day at a time, and the up & down keys move you by the width of the chart. Pressing Psion-I at any time will display a brief message interpretting the current chart for you, to tell you what it means in real terms. Pressing Psion-N will let you type in either a new birthday or a new plot date. Full help support is available by pressing the Help key. BIRTHDAYS --------- Bio has got an internal database which lets you store up to 20 people's details, enabling you to display their biorhythm chart by simply selecting their name from the list. There are three functions available to you: ADD A NEW PERSON TO THE DATABASE Press "N" to add a new person to the database. A window will appear for you to enter their name & birthday.
